Eugene Mitchell

Mr. Eugene “Gene” Mitchell, age 81, of Hog Mountain Community, Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 surrounded by loved ones and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Annie Ruth Wheeler Mitchell; parents, Winburn and Esthers Manders Mitchell; brother-in-law Ralph Adams; and nephew Barney Adams. He is survived by his children; Deborah and Larry Plott, Dacula, GA, Lisa and Bill Johnsa, Flowery Branch, GA, Donald Mitchell, Buford, GA, Gerry Mitchell, Sugar Hill, GA, and Ken Mitchell, Buford, GA; grandchildren; Kimberly (Plott) and Todd Swanson, Lorie (Plott) and Eric Park, Michael Plott, Amanda (Mitchell) and Chevis White, Allison Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Brandon and Ginger Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, Mitch Johnsa, and Patrick Mitchell Johnsa; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Christine Mitchell Adams, Buford, GA; beloved aunt, Lois Cooper Mitchell, Auburn, GA; niece Marcia Adams Elkins, Buford, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann and Don Pass, Gene and Mary Ann Wheeler, David and Ann Wheeler, and Ronnie Wheeler; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Mitchell was born August 18, 1930 in Buford, GA where he was a life long resident. He received his education at Sunny Hill School and Dacula School in Dacula, GA. He loved working on cars for most of his life especially Fords. He was retired from Southeast Service and Supply and was a lifetime member of Hog Mountain Baptist Church. Funeral service will held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Hog Mountain Baptist Church, Dacula, GA at 1:00 p.m. with remains placed in state at the church at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Chris Gaddis and Rev. Scott Tanner officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
