Former defendant takes stand in NJ webcam spy case

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- Jurors in the webcam spying trial of a former Rutgers University student are hearing from another student initially charged in the case.

Molly Wei (way) is testifying for the state against Dharun Ravi (dah-ROON' RAH'-vee), who is charged with invasion of privacy, bias intimidation and other crimes.

Authorities say Ravi used a webcam to spy on roommate Tyler Clementi days before Clementi committed suicide.

Wei was initially charged but entered a program that allowed her to avoid a criminal record. Truthful testimony was one condition for being in the program.

She told jurors Monday that she and Ravi initially said they wouldn't tell anyone that they had seen a few seconds of images of Clementi and another man kissing -- but later told people.
