SNELLVILLE -- After years of financial hardship, New London Theatre had decided to move after its current production of "Cheaper by the Dozen" on March 31.

"Through the support of our patrons and benefactors, we have done our best to continue bringing you quality shows even through these unfortunate hard economic times," said Dawn Berlo, chairman of the board in a recent email. "We just could not handle the high overhead of our lease and bills."

Through luck and networking, New London has been donated a new 6,000-square-foot location by Margins Charity Thrift and Variety Malls to continue producing plays.

The new location opens its doors on March 30 at 2338 Henry Clower Blvd. in Snellville for its next play, "Nunsense 2: The Second Coming."

Berlo has asked the public to volunteer time and money to constructing the new location. The theater is in need of new drywall, help installing new seats, moving props, furniture and lights to the new building, and more.

"We are thrilled to still be the only community theatre in Snellville and cherish you, our patrons," Berlo said. "I hope that you are as excited as we are in our adventures in our new home."
