The Region 8-AAAAA champion Parkview girls took home the top two individual awards on the All-Region 8-AAAAA Basketball Team released Friday by the league's coaches.
The Panthers' Erika Joseph was the region's player of the year and Tony Watkins, head coach of Parkview, was selected as 8-AAAAA coach of the year. Joseph and teammate Marissa Mandeldove were both first-team all-region picks.
Brookwood's Courtney Gardner and Rebecca Walker also were selected as first-team all-region along with Archer's Madison Newby.
The second-team selections were Parkview's Genesis Perrymond, South Gwinnett's Yvonna Dunkley and Samantha McCombs, Central Gwinnett's Taja Latimore and Berkmar's Daijah Cooke. The honorable mention list included Parkview's Vicky Harris, Central's Alex Frazier, South's Tiffany Jenkins and Archer's Alesha Mann and Kayla Rogers.
