The 32nd annual Charles Harris Run for Leukemia, the fourth-largest and second-oldest 10K in Georgia, will be held Saturday to raise funds for cancer research. The event has raised more than $1 million for Emory's Winship Cancer Institute.
The 10K starts at 7:45 a.m. at Tucker High School and the one-mile fun run is at 7:45 p.m. at Shamrock Middle School. The 10K course is known as one of the area's fastest, with an elevation drop of 92 feet from start to finish that typically sees 65 percent of the race's runners qualify for Time Group 1 or better at the Peachtree Road Race.
Walk-in registration, for $30 per runner, is available until 8 p.m. today at all Big Peach Running Company stores. Race-day registration is $40 ($15 for youth runners) at Tucker High. For more information, go to www.charlesharrisrun.com.
