ATLANTA (AP) -- The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a dense fog advisory for north and central Georgia as thick fog shrouded much of the state.
Forecasters said visibility Wednesday morning was a quarter of a mile or less in many locations.
The advisory covered all of metro Atlanta and several Georgia cities, including Americus, Athens, Columbus, Dalton, Dublin, Gainesville, LaGrange, Macon, Rome and Vidalia. It was scheduled to be in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
