DULUTH -- Representatives for a local early childhood education center recently announced that the Duluth-based Kids 'R' Kids Schools and Academies is the first national franchise to be granted district accreditation from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission.
The national commission recognized the district and all of its schools.
The accreditation process involved three ongoing components: meeting high quality standards; implementing a continuous process of improvement; and engaging in quality assurance through internal and external review.
The district's accreditation is for a five-year term with regular monitoring of progress and reporting.
"District Accreditation as conferred by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission provides Kids 'R' Kids Schools and Academies a nationally-recognized mark of quality for our district and all the schools within our district," said Pat Vinson, a co-founder of Kids 'R' Kids International. Pat and Janice Vinson share the title.
"It demonstrates to the nation our commitment to excellence, our openness to external review and feedback and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the families we serve," Pat Vinson said.
Mark Elgart, president/CEO of AdvancED, said "District accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school system on the primary goal of creating lifelong learners. Kids 'R' Kids Schools and Academies is to be commended for engaging in this process and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement."
Headquartered in Duluth, Kids 'R' Kids Schools of Quality Learning provide a "secure, nurturing and educational environment for children (ages 6 weeks to 12 years) to bloom into responsible, considerate and contributing members of society."
