Weir, Shanteau claim titles

Gwinnett County products Amanda Weir and Eric Shanteau, both former Olympians, had strong swim meets this past weekend at the Missouri Grand Prix.

Weir, a Brookwood grad, won a pair of gold medals capped by a first-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle on Sunday with a time of 54.41 seconds. She won the 100 free a night earlier in 25.44 seconds.

Shanteau, a Parkview grad, broke his own meet record in winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.47, which lowered a mark he set back in 2008. He also won a silver medal in the 100 breast.
