LAWRENCEVILLE -- On Jan. 13, 25 Georgia Cancer Specialists offices, including the Lawrenceville location, participated in the 10th annual Totes 2 Tots event, a suitcase drive for foster children.
In 2012, the event collected 4,400 bags for DFCS -- and 102 bags came from the Lawrenceville office.
"The 10th annual Totes 2 Tots captured the spirit of Georgia Cancer Specialists and our practice-wide commitment to helping others," said Dr. Wendy Hawke Lenz, COO of Georgia Cancer Specialists "I am proud of our efforts, and am grateful for all of those who donated bags, their time and their energy to this worthy cause. We believe that we honored Dr. King's dream as we provided tangible reminders to the foster children in our state that someone cares about them."
For the past decade, Totes 2 Tots has been held during the MLK holiday to support Dr. King's vision of volunteering and giving back to the community.
