PREP ROUNDUP: Apalachee's Blakley has triple-double in regular season finale

ATHENS -- Cameron Blakley had an impressive triple-double in Apalachee's 65-62 win over Clarke Central in their last regular season basketball game. Blakley finished with 30 points, 15 rebounds, 10 blocks and three assists for the Wildcats (8-15, 5-5). Rakim Peters added 15 points and five assists. Apalachee finished in a four-way tie for second place in Region 8-AAAA North. A coin toss is expected to decide the playoff seeds.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Hebron 43, Athens Academy 41 2 OT

ATHENS -- Hebron needed two extra periods to beat Athens Academy 43-41 on Tuesday. Down by two points, Ryan Thomas hit a buzzer-beater for the Lions to send the game into overtime. Tyler Matthews put Hebron (10-14, 9-5) up for good with a steal and layup in the final minute. Matthews finished with 11 points, while Dylan Schulte had 10 points and Thomas had nine points.

Shiloh 59, South 58

SNELLVILLE -- Kyle Lewis hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 25 seconds left and Shiloh made a last-second stop to beat South Gwinnett 59-58 on Tuesday. Lewis finished with 20 points and eight rebounds for the Generals (21-3, 14-1). Robert Carter and Jordan Gaither each had 14 points. Simeon Dennis scored 36 points in the loss for the Comets.

Providence 61, Pinecrest 49

LILBURN -- Nate Bucher scored 18 points and Abj Kushanu had a double-double as Providence beat Pinecrest Academy 61-49 on Tuesday. Kushanu had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Stars (15-9, 5-2), while Bucher had eight rebounds. Nikko Cormier and Charlie Scott each had 11 points.

Wesleyan 59, St. Francis 45

ALPHARETTA -- Wesleyan defeated St. Francis 59-45 Tuesday. Shane Smith led the way with 18 points for the Wolves (15-9, 4-3). Will Clifton added 13 points, while Charles Mack finished with 10 points.

Collins Hill 45, Mountain View 38

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill knocked off Mountain View 45-38 on Tuesday. Devin Mitchell led the Eagles (9-14, 5-8) with 12 points, while Devin Monroe scored 11 points. Sean Starke had 10 points to lead the Bears.

North 66, Meadowcreek 42

NORCROSS -- North Gwinnett improved to 11-2 in Region 7-AAAAA with a 66-42 win over Meadowcreek on Tuesday. Eleven players scored for the Bulldogs, led by 15 points from Chris Bolden. A.J. Clements had 10 points and eight rebounds, while Kwesi Abakah also scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Dacula 58, Central 53

DACULA -- Jaylen Williams scored 22 points as Dacula edged out Central Gwinnett 58-53. Xavier Okoro added 15 points for the Falcons (14-10), while Anthony Morse had 11 points. Brian Egejoro had a game-high 25 points for the Black Knights.

Berkmar 76, Grayson 50

LOGANVILLE -- Berkmar took care of Grayson 76-50 on Tuesday. A.D. Rogers and Brandon Thompson each scored 18 to pace the Patriots (17-7, 13-2). Tyler Rogers and Tim Rowe each added 11 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Duluth 64, Peachtree Ridge 57 OT

DULUTH -- Katie Powell scored 30 points on senior night as Duluth beat Peachtree Ridge 64-57 in overtime. The Wildcats came back from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter and outscored the Lions 12-5 in the extra period. Duluth went 10-for-11 from the foul line in OT. Regine Howard added 14 points for the Wildcats (15-9, 6-7), while Joi Jones added 13 points.

North 84, Meadowcreek 42

NORCROSS -- Lexie Brown and Alyssa Munlyn each had a double-double as North Gwinnett took care of Meadowcreek 84-42 on Tuesday. Brown finished with 15 points and 10 assists, while Munlyn scored 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Ariel Johnson led the Bulldogs (20-2, 12-1) with 20 points. Bailey Rexing added 12 points and five assists.

Collins Hill 50, Mountain View 44

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Collins Hill pushed past Mountain View 50-44 on Tuesday. Emily Buck scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and had three steals to pace the Eagles (12-12, 5-8). Jordan Ulm added 11 points, while Jasmine Knight added seven points, five steals, four assists and seven rebounds. Ty Bledsoe led all scorers with 14 points, while D'andre Pringle added 11 points for the Bears (11-13, 4-9).

Berkmar 46, Grayson 37

LOGANVILLE -- Berkmar handed Grayson a 46-37 loss on its senior night on Tuesday. Nina Williams scored nine points to lead the Patriots, while Jazmine Green added eight points. Sop Okoye and Miranda Clark scored eight points each for the Rams (4-20, 1-14). Tiara James chipped in with six points and eight rebounds.

Wesleyan 62, St. Francis 50

ALPHARETTA -- Wesleyan won its 20th game on Tuesday with a 62-50 victory over St. Francis. The Wolves (20-3, 8-0) out-rebounded the Knights 45-28. Holli Wilkins had 13 rebounds to go with 21 points. Katie Frerking filled her stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds and four blocks.

Central 56, Dacula 48

DACULA -- Central Gwinnett evened its record with a 56-48 win over Dacula on Tuesday. Nia Hardy led the Black Knights (12-12, 8-7) with 20 points. Alexandra Frazier added 10 points and four assists, while Taja Latimore scored eight points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Joni Weatherspoon scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss. Bre Daniels added 10 points for the Falcons.

Walnut Grove 58, Lanier 52

LOGANVILLE -- Lanier dropped one to Walnut Grove 58-52 on Tuesday. The Longhorns (10-15, 4-8) were led by Shelby Threlkeld's 20 points. Amber Cesair added 14 points.

South 37, Shiloh 31

SNELLVILLE -- South Gwinnett held off Shiloh 37-31 on Tuesday. Samantha McCombs scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Comets (16-8, 11-4). Tiffany Jenkins added nine points. Bria Ratliff and Courtney Blair each had 10 points for the Generals (4-19, 2-13).

BOYS TENNIS

Buford 5, Franklin County 0

BUFORD -- Buford opened its boys tennis season with a 5-0 blanking of Franklin County on Tuesday.

Colby West, Rob Hunter and Alex Turner swept the singles points, while the Wolves also got doubles points from Jabin Stepp and Skyler Wilson at No. 1 and Nicholas Becker and Josh Thompson at No. 2.

Collins Hill 3, North Oconee 2

BOGART -- Collins Hill edged out North Oconee 3-2 in its season opening match on Tuesday. The Eagles (1-0) swept the doubles matches, picking up wins from the teams of Jake Inderrieden and Marcus Maloney and Peyton Rushing and Evan Padvorac. Tyler Kallgren also earned a point at No. 2 singles.

Mill Creek 3, Lambert 2

SUWANEE -- Mill Creek swept its singles matches to beat Lambert 3-2 in the season opener Tuesday. Quinton Lavender, Adam Gonterman and Tyler Abbott won matches for the Hawks (1-0).

GIRLS TENNIS

Buford 5, Franklin County 0

BUFORD -- Kelley Cohron, Annalea Stevens and Kristin Bradshaw won in singles Tuesday as Buford opened its girls tennis season with a 5-0 win over Franklin County.

Savannah Whaley and Reagan Leifson scored a point for the Wolves at No. 1 doubles, as did Jessica Thompson and Rebecca Hendrix at No. 2 doubles.

North Oconee 3, Collins Hill 2

BOGART -- Collins Hill stumbled in its season opener to North Oconee 3-2 on Tuesday. Cassie and Maddie Owensby won at No. 1 doubles, while Lindsay Doktor and Chelsea Sizemore earned a point at No. 2 doubles for the Eagles (0-1).
