Dorothy Jean Parker Pete, age 56, of Lilburn, Georgia, entered into rest on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from an apparent heart attack. She is survived by two daughters; LaTisha Parker of Greenville, SC and Marlena Parker of Lilburn, GA; grandson, Deonta Parker of Lilburn, GA; two granddaughters, Jontae Parker of Greenville, SC and Amari Parker of Lilburn, GA; two brothers, Willie Parker of Atlanta, GA and Jimmie Parker of Coffeyville, Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Loree Brown and Joe Lewis; grandparents, Louise & Gabbie Parker. Dorothy was born in Sunflower, MS on June 3, 1955. She grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1973 and attended Emporia State College. She moved to Georgia in 1999 and served as Laundry Director at Life Care Center of Gwinnett for 13 years. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and going to the “casinos.” Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. “Mrs. Dorothy”, as she was known, will be greatly missed by family and many friends. The Service Celebrating the Life of Dorothy Pete will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. Trevor L. Black officiating. Interment H. G. Wright Cemetery, Norcross, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers accepted. Condolences may be sent or viewed at Tom M.
