CANTON, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say a head-on collision in Cherokee County killed a mother and father from Texas and injured their two-month-old baby boy.
Lt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened about 11 a.m. on a highway about five miles west of Canton.
He says 48-year-old Rick Dean Headen and 40-year-old Charlotte Ann Sedtal were driving eastbound when they appear to have hit a pickup truck after veering into another lane.
The adults, who were from Sour Lake, Texas, died at the scene. Their baby was rushed to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where he was being treated with a traumatic brain injury and a broken leg.
The accident is under investigation.
