ATLANTA (AP) -- House lawmakers could soon vote on a revised $18.3 billion budget for the fiscal year ending in June.
The House Rules Committee approved the new spending plan Thursday, meaning a full vote on the House floor could come as soon as Friday.
Republican lawmakers did not make radical changes from an earlier budget proposed by Gov. Nathan Deal, a fellow Republican. The spending plan costs roughly $18.3 billion in state-generated money. The state would spend $39.7 billion when adding up all the spending from state, federal and other funds.
Lawmakers have not yet voted on Deal's spending plan for the coming fiscal year.
