To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray (NR)
Movie: 4 out of 4 stars
Disc: 4 out of 4 stars
One of two stories that received both a Pulitzer Prize and a Best Picture Oscar ("Gone with the Wind" was the other), Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" was a landmark film that addressed race relations in the deep south like no other movie had ever done before and few since. Gregory Peck won his only Oscar with his portrayal of Atticus Finch, an attorney who defends a black man accused of raping a white woman even if it might cost him his career and life.
