DULUTH -- Want to mix laughter with romance on Valentine's Day? Then you're in luck. The Gwinnett Rotary Club and Rainbow Village have teamed up to host "A Night of Comedy" on Feb. 14 at Duluth's 1818 Club to benefit Rainbow Village.
As a celebration of lovers, the night includes a social reception, a hors d'oeuvres dinner and a comedy show featuring comedian Pat Dixon.
Dixon is a New York-based comedian, movie critic, writer and actor who has been televised on several national channels and has presented his own stand-up show called "Comedy Central Presents: Pat Dixon."
All proceeds from the event benefit Rainbow Village, a nonprofit organization that offers a traditional housing program that provides lodging for homeless families with children. It has served the community for the past 20 years "breaking the cycles of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence."
Most of the continuous funds supporting Rainbow Village come from churches and civic groups, but "A Night of Comedy" will bring in additional revenue to support the organization's vision to build more communities to house more families in the future.
Cost is $50 per person. To purchase a ticket, visit www.gwinnettrotary.org or www.rcggives.org.
Business casual attire requested. There will be a cash bar. For more information about Rainbow Village, visit rainbowvillage.org.
