The night before National Signing Day, Shiloh's Stephen Weatherly couldn't sleep. The defensive end has known for months that he would sign with Vanderbilt, but the excitement of signing that National Letter of Intent kept him up all night.
"It's like Christmas almost, Christmas 2.0," Weatherly said. "I knew where I was going to go, it's just the thought of officially being part of Vanderbilt."
Weatherly signed his scholarship Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. and faxed it to Vanderbilt coaches immediately.
"Now I feel like it's real. It's official," Weatherly said.
Weatherly committed to Vanderbilt in the spring, but still had Auburn and Illinois interested in him the last couple of months.
"I didn't' budge at all," he said.
Weatherly is the third player in Shiloh history to sign with a BCS school, joining Georgia's Davey Pollack and Ole Miss' Cameron Whigham.
