LAWRENCEVILLE — Firefighters responded Sunday night to a small grass fire outside Central Gwinnett High School.
Officials arrived about 9:30 p.m. near the outdoor classrooms to extinguish a working fire beside a power pole, according to Capt. Tommy Rutledge with the Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
“The fire was on a 20 by 15 (foot) area of grass, and firefighters knocked it down with dry chemical extinguishers,” Rutledge said.
He said it could not be determined what caused the fire. No property was damaged in the incident.
Students and teachers were on winter break and not present during the incident. They return to classes on Thursday.
Central Gwinnett High School is located at 564 W. Crogan St., Lawrenceville.
