Each week during the high school basketball season the Daily Post will honor a Fans Choice Player of the Week for girls basketball based on fan voting during the week at www.gwinnettprepsports.com. Kelsey Hutchins

School: Mountain View

Last week: Had 15 points in the finals and earned MVP honors as the Bears won the Lanier Christmas Tournament. Had double-doubles in Mountain View's other two wins with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the second round and 14 points and 12 boards in the first round.

Marissa Mandledove

School: Parkview

Last week: Had eight points, seven assists and seven steals in the Panthers' semifinal win, then earned MVP honors as Parkview won the Gainesville Shootout championship.

Madison Newby

School: Archer

Last week: Had 25 points, five assists and four steals in the Tigers' Peach State Basketball Holiday Invitational opener, had 15 points and five steals in the second game and added 18 points and eight assists in the tourney finale.

Melissa Turvy

School: Peachtree Ridge

Last week: Scored 22 points and hit the game-winning 3-pointer in the waning seconds of a Peach State Basketball Holiday Invitational victory. Also scored 21 in another tourney game.
