DECATUR — The Norcross and Greater Atlanta Christian boys played a total of four overtime periods Saturday night and the extra work didn’t pay off with a victory for either.
Norcross lost 71-67 to host Columbia in the title game of the Converse Invitational in a single overtime. The Blue Devils (9-5) had knocked off two out-of-state powers before beating Greenforest 44-41 in the semifinals late Friday night.
GAC fell to Jonesboro 72-68 for fifth place in three overtime periods despite 22 points by Isaiah Willkins. The Spartans, who had won two straight after suffering a loss in the tourney opener, are 11-3.
Lorenzo Carter and Brandon Goodwin made the all-tournament team for Norcross.
