Collins Hill won the inaugural Gainesville Shootout by beating Gainesville High School 78-74 in double overtime.
Devin Mitchell tied a school record with 41 points and was named the tournament MVP at the inaugural Gainesville Shootout as the Eagles beat Gainesville 78-74 in double overtime Saturday night.
Darius Joell finished with 8 points and 6 assists and was named to the All-Tournament Team. JC Reyes added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 blocks for the 11-4 Eagles.
"I’m very proud of the grittiness of our team," head coach Eric Nathan said. "We played three really tough opponents in three days and Gainesville played their hearts out. They have a really good team. We were able to make some big plays down the stretch and buckled down on defense in critical situations."
Grant McDonald also had 8 points and 9 boards.
The Eagles face North Gwinnett on Friday.
