BUFORD -- One of Gwinnett's year-round aquatic centers will soon close for a major renovation.
The 15-year-old Bogan Park Aquatic Center will close in February for the work, which includes new roof panels, new HVAC and filtration systems and locker room renovations.
The $3.15 million project, which will be performed by Bryson Construction is expected to improve operationals and energy efficiences in the Buford area center.
County officials said pool pass holders can use any of the county's other year-round facilities at Bethesda Park, Collins Hill Park, Mountain Park and West Gwinnett Park, until Bogan reopens in September.
The Bogan center includes two indoor swimming pools -- a competition pool used for swimming lessons, lap/swimming and swim/dive teams and a family leisure pool with a water playground, lazy river and water slide.
