GAINESVILLE -- Collins Hill's boys basketball team advanced to the championship game of the Gainesville Shootout with a 68-58 semifinal win over Chattahoochee Friday night.
Devin Mitchell led the Eagles (10-4) with 27 points and eight rebounds. Darius Joell scored 12 to help the Collins Hill effort.
Grayson 60, Walnut Grove 42
LOGANVILLE -- Grayson reached the championship game of the Walnut Grove Holiday Classic with a 60-42 rout of Walnut Grove on Friday night.
The Rams (6-5) will play Athens Christian Saturday at 8 p.m. for the title. Damian Young scored 14 to lead Grayson, which also got 11 points from Pierre Mason and 10 points from Robert Nkemdiche.
Greater Atlanta Christian 76, Alcovy 43
DECATUR -- Greater Atlanta Christian defeated Alcovy 76-43 Friday night to advance to the consolation final at the Converse Invitational at Columbia.
Troy Morrison led the Spartans (11-2) with 17 points and seven assists. Isaiah Wilkins added 16 and Collin Swinton had 12 for GAC. The Spartans will face Jonesboro on Saturday.
Central Gwinnett 53, Marietta 34
ACWORTH -- Central Gwinnett rolled over Marietta 53-34 to advance to the championship game at the Lake City Invitational Friday night.
Brian Egejuru led the Black Knights (7-6) with 23 points. Neal Hodges chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds while Eman Westmoreland added 11 points in the semifinal victory.
Dacula 58, Stephenson 57
DAYTONA, Fla. -- Cameron Lewis' 3-pointer with three seconds left lifted Dacula to a 58-57 win over Stephenson Friday night in the Sunshine Classic.
The Falcons (8-3) overcame a seven-point lead from the DeKalb County school in the game's final minute to propel them to the championship game Saturday. Brandon Goodson led Dacula with 21 points while teammate Jaylen Williams added 14.
Wesleyan 47, Springstead (Fla.) 33
THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- Wesleyan defeated Springstead (FL) 47-33 to move into Saturday's championship game at The Villages Chick-fil-A Holiday Classic in Florida.
Will Clifton and Charles Mack each scored 11 to pace the Wolves (5-7). Wesleyan will play Mt. Vernon Presbyterian of Sandy Springs in the finals. The schools are 11 miles apart but will face each other in Central Florida.
Norcross 60, Miami Norland (Fla.) 51
DECATUR -- The Norcross boys recorded their second straight victory over an out-of-state power, defeating the defending Florida Class AAAAAA state champion.
The Blue Devils (7-4) downed Miami Norland 60-51 late Thursday night to advance to Friday's semifinals of the Converse Invitational at Columbia.
Norcross defeated Meridian 59-44 in the first round on Wednesday. Meridian was a 2011 state champion in Mississippi and came in with a 13-2 record.
Parkview 55, Franklin (Tenn.) 23
GAINESVILLE -- Parkview remained undefeated and moved into the championship game with a 55-23 semifinal win over Franklin (Tenn.) at the Gainesville Shootout Friday night.
Genesis Perrymond led the Panthers (12-0) with 12 points. Marissa Mandeldove pitched in with eight points, seven steals and seven assists. Parkview will face Chattahoochee on Saturday for the title.
Dacula 57, Cambridge 31
GAINESVILLE -- Saustine Aifuwa's 19 points, seven rebounds and four blocks helped Dacula defeat Cambridge 57-31 Friday night.
The Falcons (4-7) advance to the consolation finals Saturday. Anazjah Mayes and Jonnae Johnson added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Dacula.
Berkmar 47, George Walton 44
WALNUT GROVE -- Berkmar defeated George Walton Academy 47-44 at the Walnut Grove Christmas Tournament Friday night.
Daijah Cooke led the Patriots (6-6) with 10 points, five steals, five rebounds and four assists.
Hebron loses pair
SNELLVILLE -- Hebron lost to Model 50-27 at the Deep South Classic at Brookwood High School Thursday night despite 17 points from Amber Skidgel and then lost 61-31 to Sequoyah Friday night. Skidgel scored 23 in Friday's loss.
Cartersville 66, Shiloh 58
JASPER -- Shiloh dropped a tough 66-58 contest to Cartersville Friday night.
Bria Ratliff led the Generals (0-9) with 22 points. Uche Ibbunjo was a force with 16 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.
Norcross 45, Springfield (Ore.) 42
LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. -- Diamond DeShields scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the Norcross girls to a 45-42 victory over defending Oregon Class AAAAA state champion Springfield in the Nike Interstate Shootout late Thursday night.
The game featured a battle of two of the best high school seniors in the country and DeShields, headed to North Carolina, won it over 6-foot-6 Mercedes Russell, a Tennessee recruit. Russell had 15 points.
Springfield came into the game ranked No. 17 nationally by USA Today, while Norcross was No. 20.
Norcross (9-1) rallied from a 24-13 second-quarter deficit as DeShields scored 13 of her points in the second half. Russell had just four after intermission. Shayla Cooper, who signed with Georgetown, scored 15 for the Blue Devils and made 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Springfield (5-2) had a potential game-tying 3-pointer rim out at the buzzer.
