LAWRENCEVILLE — Two masked bank robbers fled both in a vehicle and on foot after hitting a Lawrenceville Wells Fargo Friday morning, escaping despite the pursuit and an “extensive search.”
Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said two masked black male suspects entered the Wells Fargo bank at 3065 Lawrenceville Highway at about 9:30 a.m. Friday morning. One suspect had a handgun and the other had a shotgun.
“After receiving money, they fled the bank in a vehicle,” Smith said.
Gwinnett officers located the vehicle “a short distance from the bank and a brief chase ensued,” Smith said. The suspects then abandoned the vehicle and ran into the woods near Herrington and Cruse roads.
“An extensive search was conducted, but the suspects were not located,” Smith said.
Smith said police recovered the car, guns and money from the incident but no arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon. No further description of the suspects was provided.

If I wanted to be a bank robber, I'd choose another county to do my crime in. Gwinnett PD almost always gets their criminals, and the prosecutor will grind them into dust for committing crime in his county. I love Gwinnett. This is a big reason our county is so safe, and a great place to raise a family.
