LILBURN -- Christmas is over and you need to get rid of your dying tree. Instead of putting it on your curb or tossing it in the woods, you can donate your tree to the Yellow River Game Ranch.
The ranch features a mile-long trail on 24 wooden acres, which allows patrons to get face-to-face with several animals, including bunnies, sheep, black bear and hundreds of birds.
With all of the animals, they need a place to hide and rest. The discarded trees are used to create winter shelters and nesting areas for newborn critters.
Anyone interested in donating their discarded tree can make use of the trailer in the game ranch's parking lot. For ease, individuals can drive up to the trailer, toss in a tree and drive off.
Yellow River is collecting trees today through Monday. For more information, call 770-972-6643.
The ranch is located at 4525 U.S. Highway 78 in Lilburn.
