Total Recall Blu-ray (PG-13)
Movie: 3 out of 4 stars
Disc: 3 out of 4 stars
Unfortunate to be the remake of a much-revered and slightly better original, this "Total Recall" was unfairly maligned and differs enough from the first to make it a stand-alone achievement. Not clear as to whether or not he's had his memory replaced factory cog Quaid (Colin Ferrell) doesn't know who to trust and thus trusts no one, especially his hell-bent wife (Kate Beckinsale). With sets that more resemble "Blade Runner" (another a Philip K. Dick adaptation) than the original supported by Oscar-caliber CGI effects, "Total Recall" will make for a more than worthy addition to any sci-fi fans video library.
