GAB: Peachtree Corners run a success

PEACHTREE CORNERS -- More than 400 runners and walkers showed up at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church for the second annual Peachtree Corners Christmas Run.

This year there was a costume contest, which organizers said was "a huge success."

Runners and costume participants were greeted by Santa Claus, the Chick-fil-A Christmas Cow and "Sports" from Sport Clips.

One neighbor commented they "woke up, looked out the window and saw Santa, Rudolph a nun and an elf running past my house."

Peachtree Station neighbors on Stilson Circle encouraged runners with cheers and music.

Winners included the following: 5K, female, Caroline Reed, male, Chris Johnson; 10K, female, Tara Golden, male, Nick DelGuercio; other local results, 10K, Carol Reifenberger, Renee Trocchio, Eliza Antonowich, Nick Bissell, Scott Ortwein, Alex Wright, Charles Burts and Will English; 5K, Siobhan Bissell and Eric Strasburg; and fun run, Phil Sadd.

To encourage creative costume participation, The Forum donated $1,000 in gift cards from their retailers.
