LAWRENCEVILLE — Last-minute Christmas shoppers are clogging the major thoroughfare to the Mall of Georgia.
Gwinnett transportation officials warned drivers Friday of high volumes on Ga. Highway 20 between Lawrenceville and the Buford-area mall.
At the county’s Traffic Control Center, engineers are monitoring the situation and have made changes to traffic signal timing, the alert said.
“But the volumes are such that the effectiveness of these changes is limited,” it added.
