Bellator MMA's Middleweight World Title match to be held in Gwinnett

DULUTH -- Russian Alexander "Storm" Shlemenko and Brazilian Maiquel "Big Rig" Falcao. Two 185 pound MMA fighters. Both want the Bellator Middleweight World Championship.

Who needs to watch this match from the living room? The title fight is coming to the Arena at Gwinnett Center in the beginning of February.

"Shlemenko vs. Falcao is a spectacular world title fight. If you like fights, this one has fight of the year written all over it," Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney said. "With 50 knockouts between the two, Feb. 7 should be absolute fireworks from the Arena at Gwinnett Center and on Spike TV."

With two Bellator Middleweight Tournaments wins under his belt, Shlemenko is ready to take home the top prize.

"It was a long path for me," he said. "It doesn't matter whom I will face to get my title, Falcao, or anyone else. I will smash my opponent, and win the title, because I have my country behind me."

But Falcao isn't going down easily. He's prepared to reach his goal.

"I've had my sights set on the Bellator Middleweight Title for a long time," he said. "Bellator is my home, and nothing would make me happier to see my championship banner hanging in the rafters, and beating Shlemenko for the title."

The night also features the opening round of Bellator's Featherweight Tournament and preliminary card.

Tickets for the event are on sale and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or by visiting the Arena at Gwinnett Center Box Office. Ticket prices range from $40 to $128.
