SVDP gets donation from Lilburn Cub Scouts
LILBURN -- Cub Scout Pack 522 of Lilburn donated $252 from their annual bake sale to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Georgia during the Scouts annual singing of Christmas Carols.
In addition to singing they also decorated and delivered four small Christmas Trees, donated by their local Home Depot, to residents.
"We are truly honored to have Cub Scout Pack 522 think of others during Christmas, a time when so many families cannot feed, house, or provide fully for their own children," said John Berry, CEO and Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul Georgia. "Christmas is a great time for children to learn about giving. We encourage more children to get involved with organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul which helps individuals facing a crisis move to self-sufficiency."
St. Vincent de Paul is a leading authority on poverty in Georgia and provides nutrition, financial, clothing, education, employment and budget assistance to individuals and families in need.
