Former University of Georgia gymnast Kat Ding received the Gwinnett Sports Commission Prestige Award during the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau's Annual Tourism Awards and Holiday Luncheon last week.
Ding was honored after working with the Gwinnett Sports Commission this year to promote youth sports in the county and promote Gwinnett as a sports event destination. Earlier this year, Ding was an NCAA champion gymnast for the Bulldogs.
The Kids Triathlon in Peachtree Corners also earned an honor at the banquet -- the Gwinnett Sports Commission Event of the Year Award.
