PREP ROUNDUP: Griffin-Bey's 3-pointer propels Duluth to win

SUGAR HILL -- Sabionn Griffin-Bey hit the game-winning 3-pointer with two seconds remaining, giving Duluth a 47-44 boys basketball win over Lanier on Saturday.

Shamus Goss had 17 points to lead Duluth (7-3) in the win. Griffin-Bey finished with 11 points.

Lanier was led by Jordan Harper's 15 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Decatur 52, Wesleyan 42

DECATUR -- Will Clifton scored 20 points in a losing effort as Wesleyan fell to Decatur 52-42 on Saturday.

Charles Mack added 14 points for the Wolves (3-6).

Athens Christian 85, Hebron 51

ATHENS -- Hebron dropped its first region game to Athens Christian 85-51 on Saturday.

Derek Vandiver led the Lions (3-5, 1-1 Region 8-A) with 19 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Duluth 60, Lanier 38

SUGAR HILL -- Alyah McGriff scored 17 points to lead Duluth by Lanier 60-38 on Saturday.

Joi Jones scored 13 points for Duluth (6-3, 3-2 Region 7-AAAAAA). Shelby Threlkeld led Lanier with 12 points.

Duluth's next game is home vs. Meadowcreek at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Chattahoochee 47, Grayson 46

LOGANVILLE -- Chattahoochee gained a slim 47-46 win over Grayson on Saturday.

Tiara James led the Rams (3-7, 1-4 Region 8-AAAAAA) with 15 points and six rebounds. Shakara Burton had eight points and five assists.

Wesleyan 51, Decatur 37

DECATUR -- Wesleyan improved to 8-0 with a 51-37 win over Decatur on Saturday.

Katie Frerking led the Wolves with 12 points, five assists and three blocks. Keevana Edwards added six points and six rebounds.

Meadowcreek 53, Clarkston 24

CLARKSTON -- Skyler Robinson and Kourtney Hill scored 12 points apiece, which led Meadowcreek to a 53-24 win over Clarkston on Saturday.

Courtney Fields and Angel Alexander each scored 11 points for the Mustangs (2-6).

Buford 72, Columbia 51

BUFORD -- Camilla Anderson scored 18 to lead Buford by Columbia 72-51 on Saturday.

Kaela Davis scored 16 for the Wolves (4-1), and Kristina Nelson added 12 points.

Archer 57, Blessed Trinity 42

ROSWELL -- Archer turned it on in the third quarter for a comfortable 57-42 win over Blessed Trinity on Saturday.

Madison Newby led the Tigers (7-2) with 24 points, four assists and five steals.

Kayla Rogers had 12 points and seven steals, and Alesha Mann had 10 points and four steals.

Hebron 54, Athens Christian 30

ATHENS -- Amber Skidgel scored 26 points, all of them in the second half, to lead Hebron past Athens Christian 54-30 on Saturday.

Ashley Stanley had 11 points and four assists, and Josie Lewis had three points and eight rebounds for the Lions (4-3).
