Local football fans who sit down to watch a random bowl game this season will at least have something noteworthy to watch.
As usual, Gwinnett players abound on the rosters of bowl teams over the next month. From the early bowl games to the BCS National Championship Game, there are plenty of opportunities to watch local graduates on TV beginning Thursday.
Here's a game-by-game glance at who to watch for and when to watch for them:
At San Diego
San Diego State (9-3) vs. BYU (7-5), 8 p.m. (ESPN)
Norcross grad Brice Butler (No. 19), a transfer from USC, is a senior wide receiver for San Diego State. He has 23 catches for 343 yards and four touchdowns this season.
Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl
At St. Petersburg, Fla.
Ball State (9-3) vs. UCF (9-4), 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Central Gwinnett grad Aaron Taylor (No. 37) is a freshman safety for Ball State, while Berkmar's Troy Davis (No. 58) is a defensive lineman for Central Florida. Davis is one of UCF's top defenders with 66 tackles (nine for losses), 6.5 sacks, 13 QB hurries, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Saturday, Dec. 22
New Orleans Bowl
East Carolina (8-4) vs. Louisiana-Lafayette (7-4), Noon (ESPN)
Mill Creek's Trent Tignor (No. 38) is ECU's punter and also the holder for PATs and field goals. Teammate Terry Williams (No. 54) of Grayson is a nose tackle. Tignor averages 42.4 yards per punt and has put 12 inside the 20. Williams has made 37 tackles (4.5 for losses).
Wednesday, Dec. 26
Little Caesars Pizza Bowl
Central Michigan (6-6) vs. Western Kentucky (7-5), 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Western Kentucky's defense include three locals -- Grayson's Quanterus Smith (No. 93) and Grayson's Rammell Lewis (No. 96) on the defensive line and Norcross' Arius Wright (No. 21) at defensive back. Smith had 38 tackles (18.5 for losses) and 12.5 sacks before suffering a season-ending injury. Lewis has 20 tackles, five for losses and two sacks, while Wright has 33 tackles (25 solos), a sack, an interception, two fumble recoveries and six pass breakups.
Thursday, Dec. 27
At Charlotte, N.C.
Duke (6-6) vs. Cincinnati (9-3), 6:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Norcross' Silverberry Mouhon (No. 92) is a defensive end at Cincy. He has played in every game and has 17 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble to his credit.
At San Diego
Baylor (7-5) vs. UCLA (9-4), 9:45 p.m. (ESPN)
Wesleyan's Andrew Frerking (No. 6) is a quarterback and Norcross' Prince Kent (No. 1) is a linebacker for Baylor, while Peachtree Ridge's Ahmaad Harris (No. 26) is a wideout for UCLA. Kent has played in all 12 games.
Friday, Dec. 28
At Shreveport, La.
Louisiana-Monroe (8-4) vs. Ohio (8-4), 2 p.m. (ESPN)
Parkview's Jordan Reid (No. 12) is a wide receiver for Ohio.

Grayson's Joseph Champaign (No. 47) is a defensive lineman, Buford's Cody Getz (No. 28) and Apalachee's Jon Lee (No. 24) are running backs for Air Force and Dacula's Dexter Walker (No. 5) is a defensive back. Getz is the Falcons' leading rusher with 1,213 yards and nine touchdowns and Lee has 543 rushing yards and four scores. Champaign has 24 tackles (3.5 for losses) and 2.5 sacks and Walker has nine tackles and a forced fumble.
At New York
Syracuse (7-5) vs. West Virginia (7-5), 3:15 p.m. (ESPN)
For Syracuse, Central Gwinnett's George Morris (No. 27) is a running back and Brookwood's Cameron Lynch (No. 38) plays linebacker. Lynch has 38 tackles (four for losses), 3.5 sacks and four QB hurries.
Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
At Tempe, Ariz.
Michigan State (6-6) vs. TCU (7-5), 10:15 p.m. (ESPN)
This game is a mini-Brookwood reunion as MSU has Andre Sims Jr. (No. 21) at wide receiver and Nick Tompkins (No. 31) at running back, while former Bronco teammate Zach Jackson (No. 21) is a freshman defensive back at TCU.
Monday, Dec. 31
Music City Bowl
At Nashville, Tenn.
Vanderbilt (8-4) vs. N.C. State (7-5), Noon (ESPN)
For Vandy, South Gwinnett's Jonathan Krause (No. 17) is a wide receiver, Buford's Paris Head (No. 21) is a defensive back and Shiloh's Stephen Weatherly (No. 45) is a defensive end. In addition to playing at wideout, Krause averages 11.2 yards on punt returns with two for TDs this season.
At El Paso, Texas
Georgia Tech (6-7) vs. Southern Cal (7-5), 2 p.m. (CBS)
For Tech, Grayson's Shawn Green (No. 97) plays defensive line, Collins Hill's Charles Perkins (No. 21) is a running back, GAC's Chase Roberts (No. 79) is an offensive lineman, Norcross' Anthony Autry is a wide receiver, Central Gwinnett's Francis Kallon (No. 95) is a defensive end and Norcross' Chris Tanner (No. 17) is a kicker. Buford's Ryan Dillard (No. 49) is a defensive back at USC.
At Memphis, Tenn.
Iowa State (6-6) vs. Tulsa (10-3), 3:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Shiloh's Ernst Brun (No. 84) is the starting tight end for Iowa State. He has 22 catches for 228 yards and five TDs this season.
LSU (10-2) vs. Clemson (10-2), 7:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Peachtree Ridge's Kevin Minter (No. 46) plays is a second-team All-American at middle linebacker for LSU, having made a team-high 111 tackles (13.5 for losses) with three sacks. Two newcomers from Buford, Reid Ferguson (No. 50) as snapper and Vadal Alexander (No. 78) at offensive tackle, have jumped into starting roles as freshmen for LSU.

Buford's Omar Hunter (No. 99) is a senior anchor for the Gators' defensive line, while Norcross' Max Garcia (No. 76) is an offensive lineman who is sitting out this season after transferring from Maryland.

At Birmingham, Ala.
Pittsburgh (6-6) vs. Mississippi (6-6), 1 p.m. (ESPN)
For Ole Miss, Grayson's Denzel Nkemdiche (No. 4) is a linebacker, Shiloh's Cameron Whigham (No. 55) plays defensive end and Peachtree Ridge's Justin Watts (No. 19) is a kicker. Nkemdiche, who earned second-team All-SEC honors as a freshman, has 78 tackles (12 for losses), three sacks, three interceptions and four forced fumbles. Whigham has 26 tackles (two for losses), 1.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Monday, Jan. 7
BCS National Championship
Notre Dame (12-0) vs. Alabama (12-1), 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)
For the Crimson Tide, Brookwood's Kellen Williams (No. 63) and North Gwinnett's Austin Shepherd (No. 79) play offensive line, Buford's Kurt Freitag (No. 41) is a tight end and Norcross' Adrian Hubbard (No. 42) and Buford's Dillon Lee (No. 25) are linebackers. Hubbard has 39 tackles (10 for losses), six sacks, four QB hurries and three forced fumbles.
