ATLANTA — Authorities say jets are flying over smoke and flames from a large fire as they approach the runways of Atlanta's airport.
The fire was raging early Thursday near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. It has been reported that flights were still able to land.
Authorities say the building on fire is a vacant structure that was once used as a training facility for firefighters.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries in the blaze. Video from TV reports showed flames consuming the building.
Hartsfield-Jackson is the world's busiest airport.
