LETTERS: Fiscal cliff negotiations like playing poker

I urge President Obama and the Democrats to hold out (if necessary) to let the Bush tax cuts expire, rather than giving in on getting the desired tax hike on the top 2 percent and raising the eligibility on Medicare from 65 to 67.

After the new Congress is sworn in, we can pass the middle class tax hikes, a stimulus package to create jobs and extend unemployment benefits. Raising the Medicare age does not result in cost savings. Let's "get a grip" and stay focused.

The "lame ducks" don't have anything to lose. The next group of Congressional Republicans cannot be associated with refusing to vote for middle class tax cuts.

Haven't you ever played poker seriously before?

Of course it is! The Democrats brag about the Congress coming together only as long as it isn't their Party doing the giving in. This is directly opposite of what Obama said after he was elected again. Just adding another lie to his legacy.
