Dr. Julian L. Harris, Sr., age 90, of Loganville, Georgia, formerly of Winston- Salem, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Dr. Harris is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Frances S. Harris; two sons, Julian L. Harris, Jr. and his wife Kris of Cumming, GA, Edward S. Harris and Cherie Martin of Greensboro, NC; two grandsons, Julian L. Harris, III of Cumming, GA and Edward S. Harris, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; other relatives, a host of friends and colleagues. Dr. Harris was predeceased by his parents, five siblings, and his son, Kenneth Robert Harris. Dr. Harris was born on April 20, 1922, in Hazen Arkansas to Julia Friend Harris and Alvin Virgil Harris. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School, and served as a United States Army physician in Germany. After his military service, he entered private practice in Winston-Salem with a career spanning 25 years. Dr. Harris then joined the V.A. Medical Center in Decatur, GA as a staff physician until his retirement. A Service Celebrating the Life of Dr. Julian L. Harris, Sr. will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Snellville United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens with Military Honors rendered.
