Dacula High student, 14, reports rape by schoolmate

DACULA -- A 14-year-old Dacula High student said she was raped earlier this month by a schoolmate.

The girl told Gwinnett County police that she went to the school's football field after being released from classes on the afternoon of Dec. 4. According to an incident report, she was approached by a "known male" described as a 17-year-old senior.

"The victim stated that when the suspect approached her, he asked her about a relationship between himself and another friend," the report said. "The victim advised that she and the suspect then walked across the street to Dacula Family Sports."

The name of the male, apparently known to the alleged victim by only a first name, was redacted from police reports because he is a minor.

The Daily Post does not identify the alleged victims of sexual crimes.

The alleged victim told police that when the duo walked to the back of Dacula Family Sports, the suspect pushed her against a wall, "then held her against the wall with one hand and forcibly removed her pants with the other hand."

The girl said she punched the male in the face and throat but was unable to get him off of her.

"The victim advised she then screamed and told the suspect that if he did not stop, he would get caught," the incident report said. "The victim stated the suspect then relaxed his grip on her and she was able to push him off of her and separate herself from him."

The alleged victim then ran down Broad Street and located her mother, who was driving toward the school. The incident was reported the same day.

The case is currently under investigation, Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said Tuesday.
