GAB: Third annual Amazing Entrepreneur Contest begins

DULUTH -- Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development, in partnership with the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center and Jackson Electric Membership Corp., have announced the launch of the third annual Amazing Entrepreneur Contest.

Designed to cultivate new business development in Gwinnett County, contestants enter a business plan summary for the chance to win cash and prizes.

"We are excited to launch the Amazing Entrepreneur Contest for the third year and have simplified the application process to make entry easier," said Mark Farmer, director for entrepreneurship and information services for Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development and Partnership Gwinnett.

"In addition, the contest now recognizes two distinct categories: one for businesses up to three years old and one for companies not yet launched, but with a viable business plan," Farmer said.

The grand prize winner of the established business category will receive $2,500 cash, consultation with Arnall Golden Gregory, a trip to Sage Software's customer conference, a one-year Gwinnett Chamber membership, passes to attend four sessions in the Chamber's Gwinnett Business Institute program, three copies of Microsoft Office 2010 and a scholarship to the SBDC Grow Smart program.

Winner of the pre-venture category will receive a scholarship to the SBDC Start Smart program and accounting services from John Dillard, CPA.
