SUGAR HILL -- One northern Gwinnett city will begin the new year with a new city hall.
Sugar Hill officials announced a Jan. 13 grand opening for the new city edifice, located at West Broad Street and Temple Drive.
The city congratulated Precision Planning, Pond Engineering, Van Winkle Construction and Reeves Construction for the work on the $11 million, 33,000-square-foot building in a city newletter.
The grand opening celebration, set for 1 to 4 p.m., will feature dignitaries, food and commemorative mementos. People will be able to tour the building, where historical documents of the city's early days will be on display. Attendees are also invited to walk around an amenity pond and amphitheater, where concerts will be held.
Participants can also take part in a "living history" project by taking part in a video taping.
