LAWRENCEVILLE -- Former Atlanta Falcon Grady Jackson is in the Gwinnett County jail for the fourth time in less than two years.
Detention center records show Jackson, who played for the NFL's Falcons in two different stints from 2006 to 2008, was arrested Tuesday on felony violation of probation charges. The Braselton resident remained there Thursday without bond.
The exact nature of Jackson's alleged probation violation was unclear. Jackson, who operated a barber shop in Lawrenceville, was sentenced to three years probation last September when he entered a plea on theft by taking charges, court records showed.
Those charges stemmed from a Dec. 2010 arrest. According to police, Jackson had pawned a diamond-encrusted watch worth about $40,000 -- the same watch a former Detroit Lions teammate had reported stolen the year before. Jackson told authorities he had bought the watch from "some guy in Alabama."
Since that incident, the former NFL defensive tackle has now been arrested three times, including in June 2011 for failure to appear and in Sept. 2011 for driving with a suspended license.
