WINDER -- Barrow County authorities are seeking two men that managed to steal an entire ATM from a local convenience store.
Lt. Matt Guthas of the Barrow County Sheriff's Office said the suspects -- believed to be white males -- backed a flatbed truck through the front glass doors of the convenience store at about 5:30 a.m. Monday. The thieves made out with the machine and presumably drove it to Jackson County, where it was recovered Tuesday morning.
"The suspects did forcefully enter the machine and remove the contents," Guthas said. Authorities did not release the amount of money stolen, saying it might jeopardize their investigation. The specific location of the convenience store was not released Thursday.Guthas said two persons of interest had been identified, and that detectives were attempting to locate and interview them.
"No arrest warrants have been issued at this time nor are names being disclosed," Guthas said.
Blurry surveillance photos of the crime were released for publication.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or may have information on the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at 770-307-3080, extension 3083.
