Gwinnett Braves award grant to Feed the Hungry Forsyth

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett Braves have awarded their $1,000 grant for the month of November to Feed the Hungry Forsyth Inc., announced on Dec. 5. The Thanksgiving-themed grant will help Feed the Hungry Forsyth in its mission to collect and distribute perishable food to those in need in Forsyth County.

The grant allows Feed the Hungry Forsyth to achieve a $12,000 goal, enough to purchase a refrigerated truck. With the vehicle, the organization will be able to collect meats, vegetables and other perishable food items from area restaurants that would otherwise go to waste.

The organization will then donate those food items to ministries and food pantries that serve the hungry throughout Forsyth county.
