WINDER -- City Council members voted Tuesday to approve a conditional-use permit to Early Learning Center Property Management Inc.
The applicant plans to use the existing structure on the property located at 37 S. Center St. for a day care center for 80-plus children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The .87 acre property will offer plenty of room, according to the applicant, to build a code-required playground in back of the building.Annexations and rezoning approved TuesdaySeveral property annexations and subsequent rezonings were approved during Tuesday's City Council meeting. On Punkin Junction Road in Winder, the 2.55 acres located at 305 Punkin Junction Road and 3.02 acres on the same road were annexed into the city limits from Barrow County and zoned similarly for agricultural use.
About 58.46 acres on Exchange Boulevard zoned for commercial use was also annexed into Winder city limits, and 4.27 acres on the same road was also brought into the city limits and zoned for commercial use. No address is listed for these two properties on Exchange Road; parcel numbers of record are XX074-041A and XX074-41D, respectively.
About 10.92 acres located at 340 Exchange Blvd. was also annexed and zoned for commercial use, the owner listed as Athens Regional Health Resources.
Mayor David Maynard said, there are currently no specific proposals or plans on the drawing board for any of these properties.
