LILBURN -- Police have released a sketch of the suspect who shot a Lilburn man in his driveway last week.
Luis Salazar arrived at his home off Greenleaf Drive at about 7 p.m. last Wednesday, was approached by the black male suspect, robbed of his wallet and shot once in the lower back. The unidentified man fled on foot and was not found during a search of the area, Lilburn police spokesman Capt. Ben Haynes said.
Salazar, who was initially in critical condition, was able to speak with a forensic artist from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The subsequent sketch was released Tuesday.
"We believe someone will be able to recognize the person in the sketch and help us solve this case," Haynes said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lilburn Police Department at 770-638-2218.
The suspect was previously described only a black male with a slim build. He and the victim are not believed to know each other.
Salazar has been upgraded to stable condition and moved out of the intensive care unit, Haynes said Tuesday.
