Shiloh to honor college-bound baseball players

Shiloh will host a ceremony Thursday to honor three baseball players who have signed with college programs. The event will be at 5 p.m. in the Generals' Alumni Room.

First baseman Kyle Lewis, a four-year letter winner who hit .383 last season, has signed with Mercer. Teammates JaMarkus George and Jeremy Glore have both signed with Southern University (La.). George, a two-year letter winner at pitcher, had a 1.35 ERA with two wins and a save last season. Glore, a two-year letter winner at catcher, hit .310 last season.

The three players helped Shiloh to a 17-12 record and its first Region 8-AAAAA playoff appearance in 2012.

Very good momentum for the baseball program there. Why doesn't the administration seem to support it. The Principal, the AD, nor anyone but the coaches showed up from the school. This is the first time in a long time since this calibur of player has emereged from that school (3 DI signees, mid major schools) and the Administration doesn't even acknowledge it. The AD was even initially reluctant in allowing them to having a signing ceremony. However, the dysfunctional and anemic football program gets full support and resources from the school. Just doesn't add up. It's gonna always be 'Shiloh' over there.
