DULUTH -- A gastroenterologist from Duluth has begun work on a campaign to prevent colorectal cancer that will have an event in March in Arlington, Va.
Indran Indrakrishnan, the medical director of the Gwinnett Digestive Clinic, serves on the Board of Directors for Fight Colorectal Cancer, a national advocacy organization.
The organization will have a seventh annual event, called "Call-on Congress," from March 18-20, 2013. The event gives survivors, caregivers and families an opportunity to meet with members of Congress.
The event will launch a "One Million Strong" campaign to empower advocates and raise awareness to promote prevention of colorectal cancer. The organization also has a public service announcement that stars Charles Kelley of the country music group Lady Antebellum.
