Items needed include the following: candy canes, hard candy, chewing gum, mints, multivitamins, moisturizer, lip balm, shampoo, eye drops, sun block, batteries (AA and AAA), deck of playing cards, crossword puzzles, dominos, CDs and DVDs.

Balloon Fest a success
FLOWERY BRANCH -- Sterling on the Lake's annual harvest Balloon Fest recently raised more than $19,000 to benefit the Hall County Animal Shelter and Challenged Child and Friends, which serves children with disabilities.
The event featured balloon races, kids' games, pumpkin carving and hay rides.
The Harvest Balloon Festival, which was held on Oct. 21, offered the opportunity for donors to view the beautiful Georgia fall colors from the sky above northern Atlanta.
Academy to host fundraiser
LILBURN -- Providence Christian Academy has plans to host the final Carter Martin Class from 5 to 8 p.m. at the school Dec. 14.

Carter was a first-grade student at Providence Christian Academy in 2002, when he developed cancer.
With the help of PCA, Carter's parents, many businesses and his classmates, the Carter Martin Classic was begun.
