DULUTH -- A 72-year-old man who said he's too young to make plans, claimed a $1 million lottery prize on Thursday.
Lawrenceville resident J.T. Willis matched the first five numbers from the Aug. 8 Powerball drawing, 3-7-11-15-28, from the ticket he purchased at the Citgo Quick Mart in Lawrenceville.
Willis, who is retired, delivered newspapers for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for 14 years. Willis claimed his prize at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.
Willis and his wife Verdella have one son, but he said he hadn't made immediate plans.
"I'm too young to make plans," he said. "I just do it."
