LAWRENCEVILLE -- Since the beginning of May, the Aurora Theatre has been raising some extra dough because the Lawrenceville landmark was given a challenge by a local business.
"Gwinnett Federal Credit Union has issued us a challenge," a release said. "We need you to take the L.E.A.P. to lead, energize and assure our progress. If we can raise $100,000 by Labor Day, Gwinnett Federal Credit Union will donate $50,000 in matching funds. This challenge comes at a critical time. Your donation helps to fund and sustain Aurora's ground breaking work like Camp Aurora, Learning Library, Christmas Canteen, Aurora's New Musical Initiative and much more."
In the past week, the theater was given $10,000 in additional donations, but still needs $25,000 to reach its goal by Monday.
