LAWRENCEVILLE -- Don't go to Captain D's or Long John Silver's for your fried fish on Saturday because Bethesda United Methodist Church is hosting its 55th annual fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. for $7 a plate.
"The event goes out to all of the community," Pastor John Whatley said. "This year, we're selling to individuals and we're making about 1,200 plates. We love it because the whole church comes together to work on this -- children, youth to adults. It's just a wonderful event to share our fellowship to the community in the area."
The plate includes fried fish, a side, dessert and drink.
After you purchase a plate, there are two places to eat: in the large fellowship hall or outside. Can't stay to eat at the church? No problem. Members of the parish will man a drive-thru for people on the go.
"It's easy because you can take it home for dinner," Whatley said. "But people can come and visit at the sacred grounds. It brings the church together and community together."
Bethesda United Methodist Church is located at 444 Bethesda Church Road in Lawrenceville. For more information about the church and its ministry, visit www.bethesdaunited.org.
