PREP ROUNDUP: Bush strikes out career-high 10 in Buford's 9-0 win

BUFORD -- Bria Bush hit a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the sixth to help Buford defeat Fannin County 9-0 on Thursday.

Bush earned the win in the circle for the Wolves (11-0, 2-0 Region 7-AAA). She pitched all six innings in the run-ruled game, giving up two hits and striking out a career-high 10. It was her sixth complete game and third shutout of the season.

Bush was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and three RBIs. Baylee Sexton went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, Remington Hasty was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run. Niki Cook added a 2-for-2 performance with two runs, an RBI and five stolen bases.


Prince Avenue 5, Providence 4

LILBURN -- Prince Avenue claimed a 5-4 win over Providence in eight innings on Thursday.

Jessie Kowalewicz was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run for the Storm (2-10, 1-3 Region 8-A). MacKenzie Tuttle and Aubrey Gold both went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Dacula 10, Shiloh 1

SNELLVILLE -- Kendra Pfister struck out 13 in a 10-1 win against Shiloh on Thursday.

Pfister (5-1) gave up two hits and no earned runs in the circle for the Wildcats (7-5-1, 2-1 Region 8-AAAAAA).

Keeli Waugh was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run. Kristan Lizardi, Shaniah Norman and Samantha Kates each had a hit, drove in a run and scored a run for Dacula.

Mountain View 11, Norcross 3

NORCROSS -- Hannah Seagriff pitched a complete game en route to Mountain View's 11-3 region win over Norcross on Thursday.

Seagriff allowed five hits, no earned runs and struck out four for the Bears (11-4, 1-0 Region 7-AAAAAA).

Taylor Miller and Kara Adams were both 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Adams also drove in a run. Courtney Kichefski went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles.

Mount Pisgah 7, GAC 5

NORCROSS -- GAC's record fell to 3-3 with a 7-5 loss to Mount Pisgah on Thursday.

Jordan Smalls led the Spartans' offense with three hits. Mary Johnson and Courtney Czentnar each had two hits and two runs scored.

Brookwood 8, South 0

SNELLVILLE -- Amanda Ablan and Ansley Jones pitched Brookwood to an 8-0 shutout on Thursday at South.

Ablan went 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs and two doubles for the Broncos (10-6, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAAA). Mandy Blackwell was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Taiylor Rinehart was 2-for-3 with two runs and two stolen bases. Taylor Stercay added a 1-for-2 night with an RBI.

Parkview 9, Grayson 1

LOGANVILLE -- Amanda Chambers struck out seven in six innings and earned her seventh win of the season as Parkview topped Grayson 9-1 on Thursday.

Eryn Stepp led the Panthers (8-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAAA) on offense with a 3-for-4 night with a double, a triple and three RBIs. Patty Dennison was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBIs, and Ally Claytor was 2-for-3 with three runs.


Buford 3-0, Collins Hill 2-1 at Dacula

DACULA -- Buford defeated Collins Hill, Dacula and Shiloh for its first wins of the season on Thursday.

Tori Payton led the Wolves (3-6) with 49 assists, and Maggie Roper had 27 kills, 11 digs and seven aces.

Kaitlyn Tatum contributed 15 kills and six aces, and Mikhayla Riedel had 17 digs for Buford.

Collins Hill came back to beat Shiloh and Dacula after the loss to Buford.

Sam Rivera had eight kills, five aces and three blocks, and Courtney Foster had nine kills, 20 aces, seven digs and nine assists for the Eagles (4-4).

Other contributors included Taylor Bold with five kills, four aces and eight digs, Jesse Price with six kills, Jennifer Ahslwede with five aces and 18 assists. Haley Cook added two digs, and Ariana McDaniels had nine digs.

Gloria Watson had 13 kills and an ace, Kyana Palmer had two kills and three digs, and three kills and 10 digs in Shiloh's (4-3) win over Dacula. Kinsasha Bell had nine kills, Briana Stiph had three aces, a kill and seven digs, and Brianna Campbell had two kills and an ace. Jacqueline Harris added three aces, 20 assists and eight digs, Kayln Ward had five digs, and Desiree Aighobahi had two aces, two assists and eight digs.

In Shiloh's loss to Collins Hill, Harris had two aces, 53 assists and 14 digs, Watson had two aces, 14 kills, 19 assists and 14 digs, and Stiph had four kills and two blocks. Campbell added two aces and two blocks, Palmer contributed four kills, eight assists and five digs, Lewis had 15 digs and Ward had five kills.

Harris led in Shiloh's loss to Buford with three aces, 33 assists and 11 digs. Stiph added an ace, five kills and seven digs, Campbell had seven kills and eight digs, Palmer added two kills, four assists and nine digs, and Watson added eight kills, 10 assists and 20 digs for the Generals.

Mill Creek splits at Pope

MARIETTA -- Mill Creek dropped a match to Pope in two sets Thursday before coming back to beat Hillgrove in two.

Emily Wylie led the Hawks (16-4) with 15 kills on the day. Emily Rose followed up with eight kills, and Audrey Hoffman had six kills. Heather Hanes added 3 blocks.

Archer defeats South, West Hall

SNELLVILLE -- Archer went 2-0 on Thursday with wins over South and West Hall.

Tiffany Cash recorded 25 assists and four aces, and Emily Little had 31 digs for the Tigers. Machaela Sheffield had six kills and seven digs, Avery Taylor had 10 digs, and Danae Jones had four kills and two blocks.

Hebron wins three at home

DACULA -- Hebron collected wins over Grayson, North Hall and Mountain View on Thursday.

Eden Murray led the Lions (14-7) with 45 kills, six blocks and five aces. Bridgette Oduro had 16 kills, Alli Johnson had 10 kills and Anna Katherine Wilson recorded 68 assists for Hebron.

Norcross tops Milton, Parkview

NORCROSS -- The Blue Devils upped their record to 16-3 with wins Thursday over Milton and Parkview.

Kolby Meeks had 16 kills and Javonne Stanfield had 12 kills on the day. Sarah Ann Gratwick added 14 assists and four aces, and Lindsay Holmes had 17 digs.

Parkview fell in two sets to Milton.

North defeats Dunwoody, Decatur

DUNWOODY -- North rolled to a pair of wins Thursday over Dunwoody and Decatur.

Gretja Otten had 10 kills and Matia Hughes had 18 assists for the Bulldogs (16-3).

Lanier wins over Central

LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central fell to 1-14 after a five-set loss to Lanier on Thursday.
